What’s your background?

I started my career at the Brussels Bar and spent nine years in international law firms, focusing on corporate, finance, and competition law. I then joined the EMEA in-house department of an American multinational, where I held regional legal and executive roles in Eastern Europe, Southern Africa and the Middle East.

From 2016 onwards, I was the General Counsel for a Geneva-based conglomerate, working across industries on corporate, M&A, commercial, and governance matters, while also contributing to finance and strategic decision-making at senior level.

From 2025 onwards, I will drive the launch and growth of Ask Q in Switzerland because I see enormous potential for the type of services that Ask Q can offer here.

Why did you choose Ask Q?

I first got to know Ask Q as a client. I was impressed with their pragmatic mindset, the services they offer, and their flexibility, even when supporting companies operating in jurisdictions beyond Belgium.

What stood out even more was their focus on legal operations and technology, including AI-driven tools, which are often lacking in many law firms and legal departments I’ve worked with. Through these interactions, I got to know Ask Q’s CEO Rémy and our shared interest in innovation and AI-driven legal tools led to the idea of launching Ask Q in Switzerland.

Why do you believe Ask Q has a place in the Swiss market?

It may sound obvious to say AI and legal tech will fundamentally change legal services, but it’s true. Some legal departments and law firms will embrace these innovations and thrive, while others will fall behind.

In this rapidly evolving landscape of tools, technologies, and regulations, no individual can keep up with everything. That’s why having external partners who understand the business, collaborate closely with the team, track the legal landscape, and translate that knowledge into value for clients is so important.

Alternative Legal Service Providers (ALSPs) like Ask Q aren’t competitors to law firms, they’re efficiency partners. Ask Q’s success in Belgium shows the demand for flexible and business-oriented legal, compliance, and governance support, and Switzerland is no different.

Everyone wants to know what’s available and what’s useful, yet few know where to start. That gives us the opportunity to become the go-to advisor. We don’t just recommend tools; we help implement, use, and maintain them. This builds stronger client relationships and opens opportunities to offer additional services.

What’s your role?

I manage the daily operations and expansion of Ask Q Switzerland. I focus on business development, building out our consultant network, and working closely with the Belgian team to deliver efficient, high-quality services to Swiss clients.

What solutions does Ask Q offer in Switzerland?

We are bringing Ask Q’s proven expertise in commercial contract work, privacy, and legal operations from Belgium to Switzerland, supported by our experienced teams. Building on this foundation, we will also focus on other compliance areas such as ESG, Antitrust, Anti-bribery, Export Controls, AI, and AML.

A specifically Swiss dimension of our offering is governance support. We select and provide the right legal and compliance professionals for independent governance roles within our clients’ legal structures, including boards and board committees of Swiss companies. In today’s increasingly regulated world, organizations see that prevention is better than remediation.

What type of clients do you work for?

We’re targeting three core markets:

  1. Large multinationals with centralized legal and compliance functions, eager to outsource certain legal processes or to boost efficiency using technology.
  2. Medium-sized Swiss companies, which often lack in-house legal teams due to high employment costs in Switzerland and find traditional law firms costly or disconnected from their business needs.
  3. Family offices and high-net-worth individuals looking for more tailored, business-savvy legal support than traditional firms typically offer.

What sets Ask Q apart from other legal service providers?

Most ALSPs in Switzerland still focus on flexible legal staffing and services such as legal project management or high-volume document review, often relying on low-cost resources based in Latin America or Asia. Ask Q stands out with an experienced, multilingual European team that can tackle more complex legal tasks. We bring deep legal tech expertise through Legal Operations professionals experienced with a broad range of (legal) technology tools, and in particular legal AI tools.

Ask Q can offer an appealing cost-to-quality ratio. We deliver top-tier services comparable to qualitative law firms, but we can offer more attractive rates thanks to our pragmatic approach and efficient use of technology.

What excites you most about this partnership?

There’s a genuine “fun factor” in this setup. Ask Q combines a highly professional approach with a human touch, both with clients and within the team.

That culture is key. If you can attract strong talent while offering great working conditions, quality of life, and real human connections within the team, you’re set up for success.

Many skilled legal professionals lack the space to grow or pursue their ambitions. Ask Q creates a workplace and culture where people can thrive, develop professionally, and work in a motivating, human-centered team.

What does the future look like?

Bright. 😊

Switzerland is only the first step in Ask Q’s international growth.

I see real potential for Ask Q to become a global legal services provider, an integrated services company, and a market leader internationally.

Let's talk.
